Quote of the Day: 4 May 2020

“[I]solation is a recurring factor in poverty and backwardness around the world, whether that is physical isolation or cultural isolation, for any number of particular reasons[.]” -Thomas Sowell

#APicADay 2020: Day 124

I went with my family on another walk today. Later than I intended, but as soon as I was able to get them out the door.

I really liked how this picture of a poppy came out. I'm also getting better at processing my images.

These were my main target today. My wife wanted the second composition, with the purple irises in the background. I preferred the first composition.

#APicADay 2020: Day 123

I did get a walk today. Most of the muscle soreness from previous days of exercise is gone. I expect some of it to return tomorrow.

Petunias, and something else. Not my favorite coloration for petunias, which are already not my favorite flowers. But they are different.

The lambs ear is an interesting plant, but hard to take an interesting picture of.

#APicADay 2020: Day 122

I took the family on a little walk this evening. The pup needed to burn off a bit of energy. He's been a bit destructive lately.

I haven't taken a picture of these little flowers with the pink stripes before. This scene presented them fairly well, and allowed me to get a good picture of them.

I keep seeing these little green flowers, and haven't photographed them because there has been insufficient contrast in the scene.

These leaves were covered with water drops. I suspect they were the result of sprinklers.

These rhododendron were a little more striking in person than they appear here.

“The right to work. I cannot imagine a more precious right in a free society.” -James Kilpatrick
[Apropos at this moment in history. Sadly, there is little you can do if politicians decide your job is nonessential.]
