[This may not seem a great quote given the context of the panic and fear that seems to be permeating our society today. On the other hand, we are handling this far better than the Spanish Flu epidemic, and I'd still rather be living in our day than back then.
And the context of his statement is entirely different anyway.]

#APicADay 2020: Day 75

The weather here today was gorgeous, and I expected to get out for a walk. That did not happen. So, when I realized that I grabbed the camera, and took a picture of what we were doing at the time.

We may have been tempting fate a bit by playing Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 in the midst of an actual pandemic. Or we were just being thematically appropriate. In any event we played two games. The second of our attempts for September, and one in October. We won both, found the paranoid soldier and patient zero, and felt a sense of accomplishment. The first game was a nail biter, with us winning by the slimmest of margins. One more outbreak would have defeated us, and we were nearly out of red cubes and the player draw pile. In the end we pulled it out be curing the red disease just before we would have had another three outbreaks. After breaking for dinner (homemade lasagna) we played another, and that game went very differently. We only made it to the third epidemic, and had only one outbreak. Luckily, we've progressed in the game are are setup well for November and December.

#APicADay 2020: Day 74

I was able to get out on a walk today. The weather was less than ideal, but it didn't hinder me too much. We actually had snow this morning into the early afternoon. Had I been able to get the appropriate view I would have loved to have gotten a picture of the hills surrounding the development my home is in. But there wasn't a good place to take a picture of it. That would have shown a great view of the elevation at which the snow didn't melt.

I didn't check to see whether these blossoms were on a cherry or a plum tree. The cherries have started to blossom, but the leaves in this image appear to be plum leaves.

I don't know what these crystals are. But it was sitting on one of the shelves of mineral samples my wife has. And it seemed large enough that it would fill a sufficient portion of the frame at the minimum focus distance.
