After arising on day 3 and preparing to depart Salt Lake for Portland, ME, my wife got a text message from the airline three hours before departure that our flights had been cancelled. Somewhere along the way weather was implicated. By whom I do not know.
After a few hours on the phone with the airline we were rescheduled to flights the next day, and into Boston instead of Portland adding two hours of drive time to our destination.
But, we hadn't yet even gone to the airport, so we spent the night in Salt Lake with my parents rather than stranded in Baltimore, where we were scheduled to have a layover. And we got to observe The pup interacting with his grandparents. He was enthralled by the delivery of a refrigerator with the removal of a door, and the big delivery truck. We also got to play a game of Planet with my brother. I ended up winning by a point, but none of us had played before, so I can't attribute that to skill.
The following morning we were taken to the airport and off to Denver for a two hour layover. Denver has a weird airport. All we did was walk around and around though. After a four and a half hour flight to Boston, we picked up a car and drove through to Southport island. We did stop for dinner along I-95 at Bob's Clam Hut. The shimp basket and butterfly shrimp basket were both good.
We pulled in at about 11:30 pm local time, so we didn't do anything else.
Day 5 before much of anything interesting happens on our vacation. Probably a bit too far into it.
