Forest Grove Police Log excerpt, 21 March 2018

This week's selection from the log of local police activity deals with parental responsibility being neglected.

March 11* A caller reported their teenage daughter was refusing to wash dishes. Officers explained this is not a crime.
Being a parent (though of a toddler, rather than a teenager) I can sympathize with the parent in this story who just wants their child to do what they've been asked to do. On the other hand, I cannot understand what prompted the call to the police. What possible law did they think had been violated?
