Forest Grove Police Log excerpt, 30 January 2019

This week's selection from the log of local police activity brings us a tale of misuse of emergency resources.
Friday, Jan. 18
• A man called 9-1-1 to report a vehicle blocking his driveway. As officers were tied up with another incident, the man again called 9-1-1 to report that a man was slumped over inside the vehicle. When an officer arrived and found the vehicle empty, the man advised he had made up the story to get a faster response. Police provided a stern lecture about misuse of emergency dispatch, after which the unhappy man then called 9-1-1 to complain about the officer. In total, the man called 9-1-1 five times regarding a parking issue that was resolved by knocking on the neighbor's door. He was arrested.
If you're too stupid to figure it out after having it explained to you, perhaps you're not cut out for polite society.
