We've had my parents visiting us for the past few days, and they returned home this afternoon. So, I went out walking a little later than usual. (I also grabbed some shots of my wife holding our daughter in our house using flashes, but I don't post pictures like that publicly.) This is what struck me this afternoon as I was out and about.

I've shared an image of whatever these things are once before, but I got up closer to them this time. I still don't know what they are, though. I only see them in this one small patch along a path I walk fairly regularly.
